Enterprise Migration Services
The Enterprise Migration Services (EMS) is an important service offered to clients of FastServers.Net and provides the ability to move your solution from a current provider to a new dedicated server solution at FastServers.Net This hybrid service pulls together an assigned team of dedicated server engineers that will evaluate, plan, and execute the migration of your current server to the new server.

More Than a Data Transfer
The goal of the Enterprise Migration Services is to fully migrate applications, databases, configurations, and website in working order to their new site. This process includes the review of the current setup and then estimates the overall time needed to make the migration happen. Once the process is started an assigned engineer will work one on one with your organization to evaluate your technology and provide ongoing communication through the process. FastServers.Net provides advanced ongoing support for most major server applications and operating systems.   As part of your selected DEFCON Management Level you are eligible for advanced support on the dedicated server.   Below are a list of supported applications and procedures that are common administrative related tasks.

Enterprise Migration Costing
Each Enterprise Migration service is a custom quotation and proposal and based on the estimated number of hours associated with the project. After the initial phone call and the ability to review your current server, a final project quote will be sent out. This final quote will be the fixed price you pay for your Enterprise Migration and is derived from the total number of hour's experience engineers will require to make it happen. The final proposal you receive will be the final price of the project with no risk of overages! Our teams are that confident in their ability to properly evaluate all aspects of an Enterprise Migration!

How to Get Started
Your Account Manager will help start the process. Direct administrator level or root level access will be required for the proposal. A project help desk ticket will be generated and sent to our Enterprise Migration Team who will evaluate and schedule a call with you. After the initial call the final pricing will be delivered to your Account Manager and a proposal developed. Once this proposal is completed you will be able to process the order online for the execution of the migration. The Enterprise Migration Team will receive notification and schedule a date and time to complete the project.

Easy and Cost Effective

With 1000's of migrations completed in the past 10 years, FastServers.Net knows the process! It's important to note that enterprise does not mean "expensive". The Enterprise Migration Services were designed to help new clients easily and affordably move into their new solution while reducing or eliminating downtime.

Web server settings, software configurations, module installations, and data base configurations vary from server to server and transferring data only accounts for about 50% of a true server migration. As opposed to just reviewing a customer's configuration and size of data to come up with a projected cost, FastServers.Net collaborates with the customer to review the server configuration, data, and special requirements. This correspondence will not only provide a more realistic/final migration fee, but will identify potential areas that will need greater attention when performing the migration. This solution will eliminate common problems with migrating data to a new server allowing the move to be as seamless and error-free as possible.

Every application that FastServers.Net actively supports will be included in supported applications during migration. Some examples are Windows 2003 Standard and Enterprise, CentOS 5.x and RHEL 5.x, cPanel, Plesk, and Helm. In addition, FastServers.Net supports most open source, common applications (such as MySQL, PHP and Apache) that are current and on our list of supported configurations. Any other applications will be identified and subject to tech approval during the final quote phase. FastServers.Net will not offer support for legacy operating systems (such as Fedora Core) or outdated applications. In addition, our tech team can only offer assistance with installing applications that deviate from our standard configurations; however Admin approval must first be obtained. Once again FastServers.Net does not provide technical support for any item that we do not offer with our standard list of supported applications.

Dedicated Enterprise Migration Expert
A dedicated EMS Engineer will be assigned to you from start to finish. The same engineer that starts a migration will finish it. During the migration process you will engage with this engineer via phone, email, and help desk tickets to establish the completion of your server migration. Having an assigned migration expert allows the even flow of information and focus needed to successfully complete the migration process.

The first step in started is to get a proposal for a dedicated hosting solution that meets your needs. Once this process is started ask your Account Manager or Sales Engineer to also include pricing on our Enterprise Migration Services.
